"Christmas Rocks State Nature Preserve is beautiful with a well-maintained trail with easy markers to follow. About 554-acres. It has a long history of Native American occupation. The Hopewell and Adena peoples inhabited the region thousands of years ago, leaving behind evidence of their presence in the form of burial mounds and earthworks. The coolest spot at Christmas Rocks is the scenic vista from the top of the formation known as Jacob’s Ladder. This Black Hand Sandstone formation towers 250 feet above the valley of Arney Run. And it’s quite a hike to get up there. But totally worth it. There are two small parking areas, and you have to hike about a half mile along an access road before you enter the state preserve. TY OH"

Halgas Scout Reservation - NJPB Forums
Interesting. I wonder what the donator thinks about that? That is a nice property. I was thinking while exploring there why the Boy Scouts would even want it other than eventually selling it. And now they are.

Mullica Wilderness Campground didn't seem too "wilderness" to me, as a few people just parked on the nearby sand road and walked in. We reserved at Atsion, although you may want to place a reservation online, as the campground was crowded when we visited last June. As for alcohol, I would advise you to keep any possession of the stuff discrete.

Canada is building the world's longest hiking trail, a 11,000-mile path called the Trans Canada Trail, and Europe is building a dazzling collection of distance trails, including the 6,500-mile E4 European Long Distance Path, from Portugal to Cyprus. But the U.S. is

Wilderness Camping - NJPB Forums
The wilderness sites are 1 dollar. You will run into very few or no people once your past aprox 3 miles on the Batona, and both backcountry campsites are secluded.

Mullica River Wilderness Trail Question | NJPB Forums
Howdy folks, We were planning a hike on this trail, but I was just wondering if anyone could let me know how the canopy is on the trail. Does it provide decent cover? Also, how are the biting flies in these parts? Thanks for any help that you can give. Chilehead

Anyone game? One night? Sit in chairs by the fire, roast a T-bone steak with beans as a side, then a beer or two?

Hiking to the Forked River Mountain...how? - NJPB Forums
I've searched the Web & forum for info on hiking the Forked River Mountains and so far I've come up empty. All of the posts here on the forum have dealt with driving to certain spots in the area. NJCF and FRMC just offer general maps of the region. I'd just like to park my car somewhere and...
